College Council is the governing body of the College of Arts and Sciences at UVA. The body is dedicated to representing the needs and interests of College students, serving as peer academic advisers, strengthening college identity, fostering faculty-student relations, and connecting with alumni. These goals provide the organization with ample opportunity to give back to the College and make an impact on the diverse, unique community. Major ways in which College Council provides support is providing funding to contracted independent organizations (CIOs) on Grounds in the form of co-sponsorships, financing faculty-student interaction grants, and furnishing independent research grants.
